new life ramblings (2/5/10)

February 5, 2010 troyhjones

Sit back and relax.  These are just random thoughts from me, your pastor.  A bunch of tweets in one email.  If you  are into twitter or Facebook make sure you follow me  all week.  These are just random tweets on life, church, my family, God and faith.

  • Talked to Pastor Rick Ross yesterday. Pastor Rick is my spiritual hero and father in the faith. He was the senior pastor who built our current building.  He will be with us on April 25 for our grand opening of the new building. (move in date-March 28. Grand Opening-April 25)
  • Many of you know Pastor John Tappero.  He is the pastor that bought our land back in 1979.  His precious wife, Sister Tappero passed away this morning.  Sister Tappero is an amazing Godly lady.  These two people are a cornerstone to New Life.
  • Last Sunday was incredible.  Steve Chavez rocked the house. I have heard stories all week how God touched people.
  • We have eight core values.  # 3 value is: “Relational Evangelism”. The gospel is most effectively conveyed within the context of personal relationships.
  • New Life is hungry for God.  At Simply Worship the house was full of people who were worshipping Jesus in spirit and truth
  • The ant can lift 50 times its own weight.
  • We are baptizing people this Sunday.  This never gets old.
  • Twice a year we do MarriedLife Live.  A great evening to celebrate and strengthen marriages at New Life. Sign up for this Friday, Feb 12 to be part of MarriedLife Live. Click here.
  • Walked though the new building with John Hoole recently.  Leaders like John Hoole make New Life great.
  • Follow me on Facebook and/or twitter.
  • This Sunday—can’t wait to begin new series over Simon Peter!!!! Invite a friend! Read John 1:35-42.  My heart is stirred to preach this message Sunday. I’m calling “Hey, bro”.  This one message alone is essential to advancing the Kingdom and mission of God.  Can’t wait!!!!!
  • I love preaching—declaring the goodness of Jesus and the truth of the Word of God.  Love it,  love it-never gets old.
  • We are providing study questions for each message. These can be used in your small group or personal quiet times. You can get these online every week.  Click here!
